Release: static-wx v0.1.0

Changelog

Synopsis

This release made some minor improvements to the infographic, including updates to the condition icon colors, a few more condition options, and a flag for labeling a day as “severe”. The new conditions added are “Mostly Sunny” and “Partly Cloudy”. The icon originally used for “Cloudy” is now being used for “Partly Cloudy”, and a new icon is being used for “Cloudy” now.

All of the icons are SVGs, and some of the icons have multiple SVG components, i.e., the “Rain” icon has 4 components: 1 cloud and 3 rain drops. Instead of just blanket-coloring the icon, these individual components are now independently colored to enhance the overall look. Also, the colors have been reworked to all fit a similar theme. No more purple thunderstorms!

In the forecast.yml configuration file, a new Boolean flag called severe has been added. When set to true, this tints the target day’s background slightly red to indicate a heightened level of severity, especially for thunderstorms. This feature will be refined in future updates.

While I do plan on releasing v0.2.0 in the next couple of weeks, the exact set of features has not been planned yet. You can follow along or even contribute via GitHub, and as always, once I cut the release, I’ll post a changelog and synopsis here. Thanks!
