The opendis6 package has undergone a name change during the process of getting it vetted and published to the vcpkg registry. The opendis6 package is a facelift of the original open-dis-cpp package created by the Open DIS organization on GitHub. The maintainers of the vcpkg registry felt that opendis6 was too similar of a name, and it could potentially cause confusion to users trying to locate the correct library.
The opendis6 library has been renamed to libsersi. The name is derived from the words serialize and simulation. I carefully chose a name that did not include the DIS keyword so as to avoid confusion but still maintains the spirit of the library. Subsequent updates to the library will come as it is improved and iterated upon to further distinguish it from its predecessor.
I am still in the process of updating the package on Conan.io and vcpkg. I will post updates here when that process has been completed, and links will be provided for accessing the package’s page on those registries.
